Inhale deeply and exhale again
Arrive and take a deep breath first, because the be-all and end-all of a climatic spa is probably the good air quality – and there is more than enough of that in Langscheid. If you are looking for an intensive break or want to actively plunge into the action, this is definitely the place for you. The state-approved spa town of Langscheid on the Sorpesee is located 420 meters above sea level and is home to around 2,800 residents.
The Langscheid war memorial offers a fantastic panoramic view over the Sorpe dam and the neighboring towns. If you prefer to look at the history from a different perspective, you can book a tour with interesting information about the construction of the dam and the reservoir, including a tour (currently not possible). The Sorpesee is the deepest lake in the Sauerland with a depth of around 70 meters. Learn more about the history of the Sorpe dam here.
The spa town of Langscheid has now developed into the center of the Sorpesee holiday region. Directly in the village you will find not only shopping opportunities and restaurants, but also a wide range of sports and leisure activities. In Langscheid is the Haus des Gastes, with the Kurbad and the Panoramasauna Sorpesee as well as a mini golf course directly adjacent. In the Kurpark you can not only take walks and linger, but also get your circulation going “Zack”, as they say here in the Sauerland. The multi-generation course “Parkur Sorpesee” invites you to do so at many stations and sports equipment. You can stroll and simply let your soul dangle on the promenade directly on the Sorpesee shore in Langscheid. In Langscheid you will also find access to the diverse hiking trails and bicycle routes around the Sorpesee.
