Water quality at Sorpesee

Statement on the current situation at Sorpesee:

A few individual cases of gastrointestinal illness have recently come to light. A connection with the bathing water of the Sorpesee has explicitly not been proven!!

The water quality at the official bathing area is monitored regularly. No abnormalities have been detected. There is currently no indication that the bathing water is the cause of the illnesses.

Especially with the temperatures of the last few days, gastrointestinal illnesses can have many different causes. We therefore ask that you do not spread unfounded rumors.

At this point in time, there is no reason to assume a health risk from the bathing water of the Sorpesee.

Important note: Bathing is officially only permitted at the bathing area in Langscheid. Admission is free.

According to the bathing regulations, swimming for dogs is not permitted in order to protect water hygiene, ensure the safety of all bathers, and avoid potential contamination.
