Experience the Sorpesee: Sports, Leisure Activities and more around the Lake
AiRlebnisweg at the Sorpesee-Vorbecken
Everyone wants to get back to nature. But preferably not ‘on foot’. We can’t confirm that, because on the AiRlebnisweg trail, everyone really does travel ‘per pedes’. Above, a flock of migratory birds swings loudly across the bright blue sky, while below, a good dozen sailing boats rock up and down at the jetty. Life is slowly awakening on the shores of Sorpeseesee: just the right time for an AiRlebnis. At Sorpeseesee, the AiRlebnisweg in Amecke am Sorpe-Vorbecken is one of the highlights for walkers and hikers: a popular destination for anyone who likes to be active.
Promenade Langscheid
The lakeside promenade in Langscheid – affectionately known as the “Sorpe Boulevard” – is a place where you can leave everyday life behind and spend a day full of joie de vivre and lightness. As soon as the sun shines, day guests, locals and vacationers alike gather here and enjoy the flair of the promenade on the lake. The Gastronomy in the immediate vicinity offers hungry visitors a diverse range of options. From snacks to coffee and cake to à la carte. Here you are sure to find what you like.
Kurpark Langscheid
The Kurpark Langscheid is a place of options: Whether relaxing in the park or fitness action in the “ParKur”. A short walk in between or a lunch break with a view. Anyone who is out and about here definitely has “pulse”, because you have to “climb” the Kurpark from the lake.
Multi-generation Course “ParKur Sorpesee”
The Kurpark Langscheid has always connected the popular lakeside promenade with the center of Langscheid. The “ParKur Sorpesee”, conceived in May 2018, offers a varied program for outdoor sports enthusiasts at 44 exercise stations for strength, skill and endurance. Since the beginning of the Corona pandemic at the latest, we have known about the relevance of open-air fitness, which has since become increasingly popular.
Mini Golf at the Sorpesee
Concentration, precision and a lot of patience. These are the ingredients to hit a so-called “hole-in-one” on the mini golf course. And even if that doesn’t work out, fun with the whole family or as a couple is guaranteed.
Luftkurort Langscheid
Arrive and take a deep breath, because the be-all and end-all of a climatic health resort is probably the good air quality – and there is more than enough of that in Langscheid. Anyone looking for an intensive break or wanting to actively get involved in the action is definitely in their element here. The state-approved health resort of Langscheid am Sorpesee is located 420 meters above sea level and is home to around 2,800 residents.
Sailing Jetties at the Sorpesee
“Sail away, dream your dream” as the song says, known from the television commercial. And rightly so. Sailing on the Sorpesee with your own boat is the fulfillment of a dream for many. In the bays of the settled campsites at the Sorpesee there are four different sailing jetty locations. Anyone who has fulfilled their dream of owning a sailboat can drop anchor here.
Water Sports at the Sorpesee
4.31 nautical miles of “open water” offer plenty of space for all kinds of water sports. With wind or muscle power, there’s no stopping you, because there’s a lot to see along the Sorpe coast. Diving, sailing, stand-up paddling, canoeing, windsurfing or cruising with a pedal boat – many ways to immerse yourself in the vacation feeling.
Shipping on the Sorpesee
Traveling on the water is the most beautiful way to travel. Especially when the wind is blowing around your nose and the sun is shining in your face. The motor ship Sorpesee is about 37 m long and almost 8 m wide. The three decks offer space for about 300 people. The landing stages – or as we lovingly call them: The mini-ports on the Sorpesee – are located in Amecke, on the dam of the Vorbecken and in Langscheid on the lakeside promenade.
Pedal Boat Rental at the Sorpesee
Soak up the sun. Watch the clouds. Enjoy the all-round view and let yourself drift. A real pedal boat tour on the Sorpesee is definitely part of a day on the Sorpe. At the Sorpesee you will find a total of three stations that rent pedal boats for a small “privateering” during the season (April to October)
